Project Description: Over the next two years, volunteers will be repairing homes as well as doing new home construction.
Background Information: When Hurricane Harvey came ashore, the Category 4 storm hit Rockport first and caused considerable damage. As the storm moved inland torrential rains continued for days and flooded many areas in Houston and Pearland. Samaritan’s Purse volunteers have been assisting homeowners in these areas since shortly after the storm hit, initially responding by mudding out homes and clearing debris. Rebuild volunteers will continue the work by repairing homes and working on new home construction.
Additional Information: Individual volunteers are welcome. Teams should be organized before contacting us in order to provide the number of team members and dates available on the Volunteer Registration form. Meals and sleeping quarters will be provided. Volunteers need to bring linens/sleeping bag, pillow, towels and personal hygiene items. Tools will be provided, but volunteers may bring their own tool belts and small hand tools.
